The Anna Leonowens Gallery at NSCAD is showcasing fashion pieces by student designer Janelle Brown, with my photos as part of the show!
Model Alexandra Mclaughlan was in the pool for about 2 1/2 hours as we worked through the nine different pieces. The fabric in the water put up a struggle, as we needed it in a certain position for each shot. Here's a quick look at the lighting setup:
With my assistant (and pool provider) Tasha holding the beauty dish, I kept a bit of punch to the light, although a gridded dish would have been even more effective. The background softbox light is there just to add a bit of fill and rim light. The dish was gelled with a full CTO (orange) and the box toned blue. The result is that I could easily get rid of the green hue cast from the pool bottom while keeping Allie's face a normal colour.
This is a small set of the photos, the rest are on display at the Anna Leonowens Gallery in Downtown Halifax. Janelle's pieces and display will be there until the 5th, so take a group and go check it out!
|Pardon the crappy 5mp cell phone pic, but this is the best I've got. You'll have to go see the gallery for yourself ;)|
