One way that I keep in shape and stay healthy is by studying Chito Ryu style Karate. I have been doing this for the last six months and overall my stamina and focus have been improving. The only thing is that I got a pretty nasty cold last week and I was unable to participate in this weekend's tournament. Instead I volunteered to take some photos.
For most of the shots I used a prime, either 85mm f/1.8 or 50mm f/1.8, stopped down to about f/2.8. There was a lot of light streaming in through the windows, and even though I was shooting at about 1600 ISO the images came out very clean and crisp.
It was a great event, and hopefully I will be fit to participate in the next tournament. I was a little jealous of the competitors, but in my less-than-healthy state kept me off the floor for this round. I'm glad I was able to get out and take some photos though, hopefully they might encourage at least one person to come out and try Chito Ryu Karate at the Atlantic Karate Club.
