In the middle of May I made a trip to Moncton for the weekend to work with five of the incredible models from Scout Development Agency. Five different models, five different shoots spread over the two days. It was a pretty amazing experience. The first model I had the opportunity to work with was Alex, whose impeccable sense of style and great look made shooting a breeze. This was the kind of shoot I walk away from wondering how the hell I'm going to edit the images down to a select few.
I was fortunate enough to have access to Denis Duquette's beautiful studio, complete with lighting, backdrops and of course, some incredible window light. I was getting a little overstimulated within a few minutes of shooting, but Alex and I soon hit our stride and started working harmoniously to create something really cool together. Also on board was Devon Rogers, a pretty damn good photographer in his own right, and recently relocated to Moncton to be Denis' new studio assistant. He assisted on every shoot throughout the weekend and proved himself invaluable on many occasions.
Some behind the scenes photos give a sense of the space, and what we were working with. This was my "office" for the weekend:
Here's a quick snap from the Fuji X100T of Alexandre wearing my "Shooting Glasses". These were given to me by Jacob Connell a few weeks ago and I've been using them on my photo sessions to help me think straight. Or make more jokes. I think they're hilarious, because while they are UV protected, they're clear lenses with no corrective ability; Sunglasses without the tint?
This was a fantastic way to kick off a weekend of shooting. Stay tuned for Part 2, featuring Sarah in an outdoor city environment, as well as an interesting lighting setup involving gels on all the lights!
